Herald the new year! What will you celebrate?
Come one, come all, and join the celebration!
Stepford wives thriving on Peyton Place in the Valley of the Dolls,
oops... wrong Celebration, but still Orange County.
Celebrate family, celebrate coming of age, celebrate your birthday,
anniversaries, raindrops on roses and mittens on kittens.
I choose to celebrate the elongated coin! No need to be depressed when
you can own the impressive crushed coin.
Your coin is returned from a venture betwixt two shiny rollers for a
nominal fee, warm and transformed.

*What is an Elongated Coin?*
* *Elongated coins are created when a coin is squeezed between
two rollers, one of which has an engraving on its surface. As
the coin is flattened (or pressed) into an oval shape, the
engraving roller permanently presses a special picture or
message onto it.

Disney Penny Press http://www.flickr.com/groups/***@N24/
<http://www.flickr.com/groups/***@N24/> was created initially to
document the locations where various squished coins could be found with
the intention of opening a forum for those who would collect them to
easily locate the engraving of choice favorite characters and
attractions. The mapping feature is a wonderfully useful tool of
flickr.com just as much as I am a useful wonderful tool of the WDC.
If you have taken photos of your pressed coins or the machines, please
post them to Disney Penny Press http://www.flickr.com/groups/***@N24/
<http://www.flickr.com/groups/***@N24/> , and we thank you in advance.
For locations of elongated coin machines, I asked in shops as I visited,
and then a wonderful castmember mentioned that a list existed of the
locations of penny presses throughout Disneyland Park, Disney's
California Adventure, as well as the Hotels and Downtown Disney. Elated
I went to Toontown as directed and inquired within the Gag Factory/Five
and Dime. When another fabulous castmember brought a copy of the list
for me, I felt I needed to rush online and transcribe the list for my
fellow Disneyphiles. Then, while seated and ready to copy, lo and
behold, included within the header stating "This Official Disneyland
Resort Coin Press Collectables Sheet is available at Guest Relations
(City Hall) or online at www.disneygallery.com
<http://www.disneygallery.com/> ." is a link to the latest official
update! So instead of bickering that Collectibles has no 'a', I present
direct access to their list at:
http://www.register123.com/event/profile/web/index.cfm?PKwebID=0x1322982466&varPage=home
<http://www.register123.com/event/profile/web/index.cfm?PKwebID=0x1322982466&varPage=home>
which has such wonderful features as the fonts for the lands are
phenomenal, but most of all, the list is most current, and frequently
updated. It indicates new issues and illustrates, with a Mickey icon,
coin presses that feature a back stamp. The list even has a check box
before each entry allowing you to record your completion of the collection.

And yet, something is missing from the Official Disney list, the
camaraderie of sharing. Fellows following friends of flattened finance
is offered as membership to my marvelous metal money mashers at Disney
